ARTISTRY, ATTRACTION, AMBIENCE
The design team was tasked with effectively illuminating a unique space, one that was engineered to maximize use of the interior and exterior spaces, and break down barriers between office walls, and public spaces.
The main entranceway showcases a terraced platform, featuring clean lines that are gracefully illuminated with BL Neonview Flat 3500K. Our linear lighting solution provided continuous, seamlessly integrated light, across each wide, deep, oversized step, for an attractive and polished presence. The overhead ceiling canopy is decorated with stylized blue fins, further accented with the same BL Neonview, delivering consistent and harmonious luminosity. The lights as above, so below, convey a cohesive reverse-mirror effect, connecting the two levels as one, and creating an inviting, all weather pavilion, in which to gather.
The stepped terrace is flanked on the left by the main access stairs, which provide a clear, direct route up and into the CANVAS campus, and to the right, a custom painted mural, commissioned by a local artist, no doubt inspired by the project name. A touch of green on each platform step further enchants, and evokes images of natural stepped landscape architecture features, while complementing the dark sky-blue fin accents, artistically illuminated above.
GORGEOUS, MODERN
With uniform and high-brightness delineation, each platform level and elevation is very visible, enhancing safety for pedestrians and passersby alike. The ceiling mounted down lighting helps ensure adequate light levels are maintained on the platforms, and uplifts the ambient light levels.
The inclusion of BL Neonview Flat 3500K delivers over 140 lm / ft of dimmable, general illumination at a 120° beam angle, and provides accent lighting that really catches the eye. The overall linear lighting effect activates the area with dramatic and modern style, drawing people in from the street, and enticing them to stop and stay for a while.
Each length of BL Neonview is tailor made to meet precise size requirements, and the seamless, integrated connections keep all wiring invisible and tucked out of sight. The accessory mounting channel allows BL Neonview to be easily installed in perfect, straight, lines, and is effortlessly recessed and integrated into the feature, for a smooth, shadow free finish.
CRAFTING SPACE & EXPERIENCE
CANVAS is a Class A office campus, purpose-built and crafted to enhance creativity, concentration, collaboration and community in a balanced workspace environment. With over 370,000 sf, the site is equipped with welcoming spaces and attractive workplace features, many of which bring the indoors outside, and the outside in, to facilitate fun and healthy working environments.
Aligning with the concept of workspace optionality, every design element was considered carefully for both form and function, and a beautifully executed application of BL Lighting’s BL Neonview Series helped to accomplish exactly that within the grand entranceway design. The final result is an impressive and dramatic workspace entrance, that blurs the lines between interiors and exteriors, and breaks down boundaries between office walls and public spaces.
