Overview
Twinning the high-end Ancora Waterfront Dining and Patio in a new West Vancouver location called for a customized LED solution befitting of the dramatic grid-patterned open acoustical ceiling. BL Lighting delivered a suspended linear LED lighting system that met the needs of the clients and allowed the stunningly attractive interior to shine in just the right light.
An Acoustic Ceiling & A Unique Perspective
Visually the construction of the open acoustic ceiling is pure eye candy all the while concealing the utility of the structural elements within the ceiling. A massive glass wall and open-concept kitchen bookend the dining area and present a challenge in how to add to the overall look and feel of the relatively condensed space while maintaining a lofty visual ceiling height. The design team implemented the purpose built grid-patterned acoustical ceiling but were presented with yet another challenge – how to illuminate? This is no space for bulky, ugly, light fixtures! BL Lighting added the finishing touch with the additions of the right BL fixFORM Suspended luminaires.
Smart Shaped Design
The acoustic ceiling is stunningly transformed into an attractive and illuminated design element. BL fixFORM SPK Suspended allows for a customizable height and distance between the decorative ceiling feature, functional utility elements, and luminaires. BL flexFORM D3 4020 LED integrated with BL fixFORM SFRT extrusion allowing precise placement and ability to create the desired dramatic, expansive effect. Our suspended mounting solution effectuates appropriate distance between the luminaires, hvac and utility systems sharing the ceiling space, while the sleek conductive suspension wires combine the structural and electrical to furnish form and function, seamlessly blending into this modern, upscale dining environment.

The large glass walls inviting you to cast your eyes to the sea allow an abundance of daylight to spill into the open space; yet somehow the breathtakingly beautiful interior competes for your attention, with a sophisticated and serene style that draws inspiration from its Pacific Northwest surroundings. Well established on the west coast of North America, BL Lighting is devoted to manufacturing and delivering sustainable lighting systems, aligning with Ancora’s Pacific Rim rooted affection for Nikkei style sustainable seafood sourced from a rich palette of local and international sources. BL Lighting provided a versatile and tailored lighting package by preparing and pre-assembling each individual luminaire for easy installation, which could then be further simply customized on site to desired brightness by incorporating smooth and flicker-free dimmable drivers and easily adjustable suspension height.
